Devil in Winter (Wallflowers #3)Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Will contain spoilers for previous books of this series, in case you haven't read them.

“Mysteries of attraction could not always be explained through logic. Sometimes the fractures in two separate souls became the very hinges that held them together.”

Opposites attract. Everyone knows that, don't they?

It starts out with timid, wealthy Evangeline (Evie) Jenner bringing an outrageous proposition to scandalous Sebastian St. Vincent. Marriage! Evie is so desperate to escape the clutches of her relatives, who are after Evie's wealth, that she offers this idea to the man who'd literally, just a few days ago, kidnapped one of Evie's friends for her wealth.

And Sebastian is desperate enough to accept! And we see how these 2 strangers, and absolute opposites grow to love each other, and well, a typical story of a bad-boy-gone-good (But who doesn't love those?).

Evie and Sebastian's couple is one of my favorites. A shy girl who stammers and who one day inherits a gambling club, paired up with a rake who will one day become a duke. The saying "Opposites attract." definitely applies here. I loved how they opened up to each other slowly, and came to care for each other. And, they didn't have to have sex with each other immediately, and Evie wasn't sex starved like other HR heroines (Can't say the same for Sebastian - “Because I’m Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent. I can’t be celibate. Everyone knows that.”, but oh well).

Definitely recommended to all HR fans! It's my favorite out of the Wallflowers series, and an all-time favorite HR as well!

PS: Guys named Sebastian are always nice to read about. ;)
