Fight Club Review

Fight ClubFight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

1. This review is based on my reading of the first few chapters, and of watching the movie.

2. I saw the movie around a month or two ago. Movie Over Book, hands down.

3. You do NOT talk about Fight Club.

So I watched the movie of this a while ago, and LOVED it. Even though it's a guy-oriented movie. It may not be for all kinds of girls though since I seem to sympathize with guys a lot. Anyways, I knew it was based on a book but was too lazy to read hence watched the movie and now picked up the book. Can I just say how amazingly the movie captures what the book says? When I started reading this, every single scene I read played vividly in my mind, the quotes, the narration, the acting. Kudos to the actors and director.

It was actually the scenes playing in my head which forced me to put this down. I couldn't concentrate on the book without thinking of the movie. The same scenes seemed bland in a way the way they read off the pages. Had I read the book first, I may not have enjoyed the movie as much, nor would I have enjoyed the book as much as I enjoyed the movie.

I didn't really like the writing of Chuck Palahniuk. The quotes, yes. But I recommend you to watch the movie instead. Full of awesomeness.

I am Jack's broken heart.
